Marc Jacobs originated in New York. It all started when Marc Jacobs was born in 1963. Curious by nature, he learned sewing from his grandmother. Being fascinated by the world of fashion, he entered the Hight School of Art and Design to deepen his knowledge on the subject. To perfect his technique, he then entered the Parsons school of design in order to accomplish his goal: to become a stylist. He successfully graduated, and created his own collection of handmade clothes in 1984. An assortment of large size sweaters, with surprising patterns such as bright pink smileys that made him famous.
Subsequently, he collaborated with Robert Duffy. This is how the Marc Jacobs brand was born, but also Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Little Marc Jacobs.
In 1994, he released a collection in a casual chic style with a little retro touch that differed from American standards. His stunning style makes him internationally famous. He then joined the LVMH group in 1997, and became artistic director while working in parallel on his own creations.
In 2000, he started in perfumery with Coty. We then find these famous perfumes like Daisy, Lola, Marc Jacobs Bang, Dot and many more. The beauty and complexity of its beautifully detailed bottles enabled it to win a Fifi Awards, a prize rewarding the best perfume of the year.
