René Lacoste was a great tennis player born in 1904. He marked the beginning of his career with his victory at the French Open in 1924. Seen as a young tennis prodigy, René never stopped improving his technique. One day, a journalist gave him the nickname "The Alligator". René likes this nickname and asks his friend Robert Georges to draw him a crocodile. This drawing then becomes her symbol present on her outfits.

Lacoste, in addition to being a sportsman, also happens to be an inventor. In 1928, he created the ball thrower to improve his technique. A machine that will be used to train many players. In 1926, he was inspired by London polo shirts to create alongside André Gillier the famous Lacoste polo shirt, which had become a great reference, both elegant and practical for sports activities, which could be worn on a daily basis. He is also the inventor of the steel tennis racket and the anti-vibration pad.

Athlete and entrepreneur, Lacoste decided to try a completely different world, that of perfumery. This is how the brand released its very first perfume in 1968, entitled Eau de Sport in association with Jean Patou. Taken from success, the brand joins forces with the Procter & Gamble group, and releases many other fragrances such as Lacoste Original, Booster, Lacoste Homme >, Lacoste Femme, as well as several variations of Eau de Lacoste (red, green, blue, yellow, black, white), a cheap perfume but incredibly elegant and tonic. Fresh fragrances, representative of the sporty and modern spirit of Lacoste.
