Worth Paris

In 1845, a young Englishman, Charles Worth, arrived in Paris to apprentice with the renowned tailor Gagelin. As early as 1857, he opened his own fashion house in the capital. He organized the first fashion shows, in which his wife presented his creations. In less than ten years, Charles Worth was respected and considered the first great couturier. It is with him that haute couture became an art. Maison Worth was one of the first fashion houses to develop luxurious perfumes.
