The founder of this prestigious American brand, Josephine Esther Mentzer was born in New York to a Czechoslovak businessman father and a Hungarian mother. They nicknamed her Esty and when she joined the school this nickname then changed to Estée. The first name remained, but one detail was never revealed: his date of birth. “Are you asking me my age? I tell you that it just doesn't matter,” she replied... The line remained famous: “After all, the true essence of beauty lies in radiance and not in a number.”< /p>


Niece of a Hungarian chemist, Estée Lauder was introduced to the art of beauty creams at a very young age. Her first beauty icon was her mother with her ritual that she followed to get ready. Her beauty routine was based on a rich cream that she applied to her face to keep her skin supple and soft.
It was therefore in the production of cosmetic products that the company launched in 1946 in New York. Within a few years, boutiques opened in London and Hong Kong. After extending their skincare range with creams, serums and other cosmetics, Estée Lauder marketed its first perfume in 1964. The company continued its development, opening its CLINIQUE Laboratories and producing the first line of fragrances and cosmetics tested at the dermatological and allergy level. by Estee Lauder. A make-up line was also launched a few years later. Today Estée Lauder sells its products in boutiques around the world, has an online shopping chain and employs more than 20,000 people.

Since the release of its first perfume Aramis in 1964, the brand has created many perfumes such as Youth Dew, a refined floral perfume or Cinnabar, an oriental with a strong character and more recently with Knowing, a great commercial success around the flower and Bronze Goddess an aquatic oriental. Also, the brand is positioning itself in the perfume industry by acquiring other prestigious selective perfumery brands such as DKNY, Tom Ford, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Missoni, Ermenegildo Zegna, Frédéric Malle and Marni.
