Karl Lagerfeld 

Arrived in France in 1952, Karl Lagerfeld won first prize in a famous competition for designers organized in Paris the following year. Then noticed by Pierre Balmain, he became his assistant for several years. He will then be appointed artistic director at Jean Patou where he will remain until 1963. He decides shortly after to fly on his own and chooses to lead a career as an independent designer for several fashion houses, such as Chloé, Fendi, Chanel . He works in France, Italy, Germany and Japan. In 1984 he opened his own haute couture house where he designed around 2,500 models a year. Karl Lagerfeld is an essential "figure" in fashion, but also a complete artist. Recognized photographer and publisher, in 2004 he exhibited his finest pictures in Paris.
