The history of Cacharel dates back to 1958 when Jean Bousquet, who had just graduated from a CAP in tailoring, left his hometown, Nîmes, to move to Paris. He opened his ready-to-wear business there, mainly focused on women's pants. But quickly, he expanded his range of clothing to also offer his clientele collections for men and children.

Jean Bousquet registered his brand under the name "Jean Cacharel" in 1962. At first, the brand was little noticed until in 1963, he had the idea to reinterpret the use of crepon in order to make a blouse. Crepon that was usually used for lingerie. Worn by top model Nicole de Lamargé, the blouse graces the cover of "Elle" magazine. Its success earned it the honor of being renamed "Le Cacharel". It is then the success guaranteed for the brand. The Cacharel house gains in fame. New stylists were hired, namely Emmanuelle Khan and Corinne Sarrut, as well as a young photographer named Sarah Moon in 1968. Together, they gave the Cacharel brand a universe imbued with poetry and romanticism.

In 1969, Jean Bousquet won the Oscar for export thanks to his collections and decided to expand his business. He then asked L'Oréal to create his first womens-perfume . This is how Anaïs Anaïs was born in 1978. A sweet floral scent of lilies, in perfect harmony with jasmine, lily of the valley and orange blossom, whose spicy heart is followed by by notes of iris and carnation, and finally a harmoniously woody base. Anaïs Anaïs then became one of the great successes of the Cacharel house, quickly followed by other nuggets , Loulou, Eden, Noa, Amor Amor but also a magnificent male perfume, Cacharel pour Homme.

Jean Bouquet speaks to us of love and sensuality through his scented creations. A bouquet of romanticism in a poetic universe, so that each woman lives her story.
