The Hermès house is famous for its leather goods accessories, its prestigious clothes but also its luxurious perfumes.

Its story begins in 1837. Thierry Hermès opened a boutique at 24, rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré in the heart of Paris. An address that has become emblematic for the brand.

He starts making harnesses and various equipment for horses that he sells in his shop. Thirty years later, his work was rewarded at a universal exhibition by obtaining "the first class medal", thus amplifying the success of the brand. His clientele was already among the most prestigious, such as various kings and presidents around the world. The Hermès house then becomes a brand with a global aura.

In 1878, Adolphe and Emile Hermès took over at the head of the family business and extended the activity to leather goods.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the development of the automobile favored travel, which gave Adolphe and Emile the idea of creating models of leather bags, saddlebags and suitcases that were practical to carry. They then imported from America the very first model of zipper in France and adapted it to some of their models.

The Hermès house never ceases to exploit new ideas: this is how in 1937, the famous Hermès silk square was born, creating the enthusiasm of the prestigious celebrities of the time. Grace Kelly becomes the face of the brand and gives her name to the Kelly bag.

It was in 1951 that Hermès developed its very first perfume with the help of perfumer Edmond Roudnistka: Eau d'Hermès. Floral notes enveloped in hints of citrus, spice and leather. A scent that we would like to find in a beautiful leather bag. Then followed great successes such as Amazone, Bel ami, Calèche, 24 faubourg, Eau des Merveilles or the new perfume with oriental scents Galop.

The craftsmanship of the Hermès house is centered on the creation of unique, high-quality products following the traditions , while adding a touch of modernity. All inspired by the family passion passed down from generation to generation, namely horse riding, hence the symbolism of the carriage in the logo of the prestigious brand.
